Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Pharmaceutical chemistry is interdisciplinary science that deals with the design, synthesis, identification, development of New Chemical Entity (NCE) and its biomedical analysis. It also includes drug discovery that helps to understand mechanism of action of drug at molecular level by Modern approaches like QSAR, CADD. Pharmaceutical Analysis involves separation of multi component mixture by High performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography etc; and its chemical nature is identified by UV spectroscopy, Spectrofluorimetry, Infrared spectroscopy etc. The department is well equipped with these instruments.  The chemistry department studies different chemicals aspect of drugs like physical, analytical, organic, inorganic, biochemical, medicinal etc. There are well equipped laboratories for undergraduate students and research. Department has well qualified and experienced staff.
